About Sogetsu Ikebana

Ikebana Sogetsu is one of the major schools of Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. Unlike some other schools that strictly adhere to traditional forms and styles, Sogetsu encourages artistic freedom and creativity.

    Adaptability

Sogetsu can be practiced anywhere, not confined to the traditional tokonoma (alcove) setting. This adaptability makes it accessible to a broader audience, and arrangements can be created to suit various environments and occasions.

    Emphasis on Harmony and Balance

While encouraging creativity, Sogetsu Ikebana still adheres to the fundamental principles of balance, harmony, and form. Arrangements aim to capture the essence of nature and express it in a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing manner.
